Some of my friends are very well trained in being present. One of them is very found of Eckhart Tolle’s teachings and is very proud of the fact that he is practicing being present. However, when he talks about his family, especially his children, there is only sorrow and lots of judgments. He doesn’t talk about his children from his heart, even though he clearly loves them. Instead of just being there for them, he’s trying to insure their future / careers / family etc… Looking from outside, it seems that all these books, personal development courses may go directly in the recycle bin if one does not apply them with the beloved ones, within the family. I know that I didn’t do it for a long period of time, even if I knew all about it… The point is to be aware when we fall out of being present and to return to being in the Here and Now, starting with this very moment…
